Teaching takes place Mondays and Wednesdays, 14:15 - 16:00, starting Monday August 18. The lecturer is Riccardo de Bin.
The course material will be built around the book-to-be "Statistical Inference: 600 Exercises, 100 Stories, and Solutions to All" (N.L. Hjort and E.Aa. Stoltenberg, Cambridge University Press). Preliminary versions for the Exercises, for Chapters 1-9, and for the Stories, are placed here on this course website, as PartOne and PartTwo, June 2025. These PartOne and PartTwo are rather voluminous, and only certain parts, carefully sampled, will be worked through and then define the curriculum for the course. As a rough guide, to be calibrated and fine-tuned, the course will have half of Chs. 1, 2; then good parts of Chs. 3, 4; then half of Ch 5 (but we jump over Ch 6), then a brief version of Ch 7 (since Bayes is taught in stk4021), a brief Ch 8, then good parts of Ch 9.
More information will come, with certain datasets, with code...
