10. juni 2025The Membrane Dynamics Team (MemDyn) has received excellent feedback from the RCN EVALMEDHELSE evaluation.
The evaluation committee especially highlights the exceptionally successful performance level, high-quality research, and active collaborative environment:
“The group combines a myriad of state-of-the-art techniques and methods to address fundamental and biomedical questions, and they have strong international networks, which are actively used for their projects and published papers. The publication record is excellent and MemDyn’s contribution to the top-level publications is outstanding.”
The Membrane Dynamics teamThe Membrane Dynamics Team’s central questions revolve around how cellular membranes sense and respond to nutritional and biophysical stresses, how their deregulation contributes to cancer, and how they can be targeted in cancer treatment. The success of the MemDyn environment stems from highly motivated experienced PIs who have supported the establishment of early-career PIs, with clear visions for the needs to achieve excellence and success. This included the establishment of the MIP UiO imaging core facility that provides local advanced imaging infrastructure integral to the success of MemDyn. Importantly, this collaborative attitude has resulted in numerous groundbreaking publications in top tier journals, a high success rate for funding, and a vibrant research environment that has attracted highly talented new research leaders.
Since the departure of two PIs, the positive evaluation from RCN has spurred on the MemDyn team to continue the excellent work, to further push cutting-edge research projects, evolve integrated project applications, and expand international interdisciplinary research networks.
