Terms of use for UiO ID

Before using the UiO ID app, you must read and accept the terms of use. By using the app, you consent to the processing of your data as described here.

1. About the app

UiO ID has been developed by the University of Oslo (UiO) to simplify the issuance of access cards.

2. Data processed by UiO ID

To verify your identity and issue access cards, the app processes the following information:

  • IP address:  Registered upon using the app.
  • Login data fra FEIDE.
  • Passport or national ID card: Photo, document number, country code, national identity number, and expiry date.

Only the photo, document number, expiry date, and country code from your passport or national ID card are stored further in UiO?s access control system. No data is stored in the app.

3. How the data is used

The data is only used to issue access cards and student ID, should you choose to do so. It is not shared with third parties and is not used for other purposes.

The photo is automatically used in the Student ID app if you choose to use it.

4. Deletion of data

The photo, document number, expiry date and country code of your passport or national ID card are stored in UiO?s access control system for up to 1,5 years after your affiliation with UiO has ended. 

Other data processed in the app is deleted immediately once your identity has been confirmed.

5. Your responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring that the information you provide is accurate and in compliance with applicable regulations.
