Elections for the University Board 2025: Get to know the candidates

The elections for the University Board are approaching. Meet the candidates and find your representative.

The election will take place from 19th to 23rd May. Here are three tips on how to find the candidate you would like to represent you on the board.  

Tip: Read the election platforms

There are 7 candidates running in the category of permanent academic staff, 6 in the category of temporary academic staff, and 9 in the category of technical-administrative staff, making a total of 22 candidates.

Tip: Attend the election meetings on May 14

At the three election meetings, you can get to know each candidate better and hear them introduce themselves.  

  • 09:00-10:00: Election meeting for permanent academic staff  
  • 10:00-11:00: Election meeting for temporary academic staff  
  • 11:00-12:00: Election meeting for technical-administrative staff 

All meetings will take place in Auditorium 1, Georg Sverdrups hus.  

Tip: Understand more about the board and their work

The Board is responsible for ensuring that the institution maintains high academic standards and is run efficiently and in accordance with current laws and regulations. All institutional decisions made by parties other than the Board shall be made following delegation from the Board and are the responsibility of the Board.

Can I vote?

Permanent academic staff, academic staff in fixed-term positions, and technical-administrative staff in 50 percent positions or more, as well as Professor II, are eligible to vote in their own voting groups in the board elections. The elections will be conducted electronically.  

In 2025, four representatives for the staff and two representatives for the students will be elected, in addition to four external representatives appointed by the Ministry of Education and Research.
